Goodbye Indonesia – People & Power – Al Jazeera English February 11, 2013

Goodbye Indonesia – People & Power – Al Jazeera English.

A very interesting documentary filmed in secret by Al Jazeera about the plight of the people of West Papua.

Indonesia illegally assumed control over West Papua when they took over from the Dutch.

They gathered up eight hundred tribes people as ‘representatives’ for thousands of their own people and forced them at gun point to vote yes for Indonesian rule.

Journalists are not allowed to document what’s going on and just going there is a risk.

The fact that Indonesia is not transparent about this indicates their own guilt in this matter.

West Papua is resource rich and is why it’s going to be an uphill fight for independence.

Capitalism sucks, the big guy dominates, kills and steals from the small guy once again.

Will Australia support our near neighbours?

If our government doesn’t get involved, stop the bloodshed and help organise a legal referendum this time, we will know they are all in bed together in cahoots.

Saying and doing nothing is sanctioning it.

What ever happened to a fair go?

What’s the U.N. doing about this?

  1. “West Papua is resource rich” – that tells the story. Kudos to Al Jazeera!
